What we do
UI Extension, Nez Perce Reservation Program, provides all reservation residents with research-based information focusing on empowering youth and families through horsemanship, gardening, and community development. The priority educational program area is currently horsemanship. Visit the Horsemanship Program for more information.
The Nez Perce Reservation Extension Program was funded by the USDA-CSREES in 2007 and the new office was opened in February 2008 in Lapwai, Idaho. This program was made possible by a partnership with the Nez Perce Tribe who is providing the office space. This is a Federally Recognized Tribes Extension Program (FRTEP) and Idaho has two other FRTEP projects, one on the Coeur d’Alene (CDA) Reservation and one on the Ft. Hall Reservation.
