What we do

UI Extension, Idaho County, provides area citizens with research-based information focusing on agriculture, forestry and natural resources, family and consumer sciences, nutrition and youth development.


4-H
4-H Youth Development

4-H is the largest youth-serving organization in the world! All 50 states and more than 80 countries worldwide have 4-H programs. Agriculture

University of Idaho Extension in Idaho County offers a variety of agriculture-related educational programs. There are programs in beef cattle production and marketing, range and pasture management, crop production, forestry and farm management.

Educational programs include producer winter schools, seminars, workshops and tours. Applied research trials are also conducted to demonstrate the latest research findings to local agriculture producers.

The animal science educational program is conducted by Extension Educator Jim Church.  Agronomy and farm management educational programs are conducted by Extension Educators Ken Hart and Doug Finkelnburg.

Health, Nutrition and Fitness

The University of Idaho, Idaho County Extension Program offers a variety of health and fitness related educational programs. Workshops, classes, and personal consultations/trainings are offered in the areas of healthy lifestyles, nutrition, and fitness.

The Health, Nutrition and Fitness educational programs are conducted by Extension Educator, Kirstin Jensen, BSPE, MAED.
